In the pipe extrusion industry, there are basically two types of machines; the ones used in the production of PVC pipes with a relatively smooth exterior surface; and on the other hand, we have the ones used in the production of the PVC pipes with corrugated or wave surfaces. Now, the later can be either the single wall or the double-wall corrugated pipe extrusion line.

In this article, our focus would be on the corrugated pipe extrusion machine and their various applications. Let's get started.

Method for making corrugated pipe

The corrugated tube refers to a tubular elastic sensor element connected by a foldable wrinkle sheet in a folding and stretching direction. For domestically produced corrugated pipes, the main forming methods include hydraulic forming, mechanical bulging and roll forming. Hydroforming and roll forming are more traditional bellows forming methods. Most of the small diameter corrugated tubes are formed by hydroforming. For large diameter corrugated tubes, roll forming is generally used, but roll forming can usually only be rolled. Press single-layer bellows. Mechanical bulging is a more advanced forming method developed in recent years. Compared with the previous method of making the corrugated pipe and the hydraulic forming, it is found that the production efficiency is increased by more than 10 times (for the corrugated pipe with a larger diameter), and the labor intensity is greatly reduced. When forming a large-diameter multi-layer corrugated pipe, the port does not need to be sealed, and the cleanliness of the corrugated pipe layers can be ensured. And the equipment is simple, the investment is small, the bellows with a diameter of more than 100mm can use the mechanical expansion method.

The manufacturing process of bellows is as follows: bellows forming --- welds on the ends of bellows --- shearing of bellows ports

The double wall corrugated pipe machine is used in the production of double-wall corrugated pipes with a diameter ranging from 50 to 1200mm (measured in OD).

During the manufacturing process of the DWC pipes, two single screw extruders is used in the co-extrusion which contributes to the wave-like surface.

Features of the DWC pipes

  1. They are double-walled and relatively thick when compared to the single wall corrugated pipes

  2. They are light and have better and have better strength

  3. They are used for conduction pressured air to distances

  4. They are also used for conducting liquid wastes such as the sewage and drainage water at high pressure underground

Due to their ability to withstand pressure and high temperature, they are heavily employed in industries for passing hot liquids and high-pressure fluids.

However, the pipe extrusion machines can also be divided into the horizontal forming machines and the vertical forming machines. But most manufacturers would prefer the horizontal forming machines for the formation of the corrugated pipes.

One of the factors to consider when choosing a pipe extrusion machine is the durability and the type of product you are going to be producing. Also, you need to determine the pipe extrusion line price. This will help you to make a better budget when setting up your business. Ensure that you liaise with reputable double wall corrugated pipe extrusion line supplier for a high-quality product to serve your business.
